Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park – Karatu
Your safari starts in Arusha after breakfast. Your guide will pick you up, and you’ll drive for about two hours to Tarangire National Park. Once you enter the park, your game drive begins. Tarangire is known for its large herds of elephants and huge baobab trees. You’ll also see animals like zebras, giraffes, antelopes, and possibly lions and leopards. The Tarangire River runs through the park and attracts many animals, especially during the dry season. You’ll stop for a picnic lunch in a safe, shaded area inside the park. In the afternoon, you’ll continue your game drive before heading to Karatu, where you’ll check in at your mid-range lodge, enjoy dinner, and rest.

Day 2: Karatu to Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast, you’ll check out and begin your drive to Serengeti National Park. On the way, you’ll pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you may see Maasai villages and beautiful highland scenery. As you arrive in Serengeti, you’ll start to see more wildlife along the way. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch before going on a full afternoon game drive in the central part of the Serengeti. The Serengeti is famous for its open plains, and its home to big cats like lions, leopards, and cheetahs, as well as elephants, buffalo, zebras, and wildebeest. After the game drive, you’ll head to your camp or lodge inside the park, enjoy a warm dinner, and relax under the stars.

Day 3: Full Day in Serengeti National Park
Today is a full day to explore the amazing Serengeti. You’ll start with an early morning game drive to catch animals when they are most active. Mornings are a great time to see predators hunting or roaming the plains. After breakfast at your lodge or camp, you’ll go on another game drive or rest during the hotter part of the day. After lunch, you’ll go on an afternoon game drive to explore new areas and search for more animals. Depending on the season, you might also see parts of the Great Migration, when thousands of wildebeest and zebras move across the plains. In the evening, return to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater – Karatu
After breakfast, you’ll check out and leave Serengeti with a final morning game drive as you exit the park. You’ll drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and reach the crater by midday. Then, you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. This giant crater is home to a wide variety of animals including lions, elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, hippos, and rhinos. You’ll enjoy a packed lunch at a picnic site near the hippo pool and continue exploring the crater floor in the afternoon. After the game drive, you’ll drive to your lodge in Karatu, where you’ll enjoy a hot meal and a good night’s sleep.

Day 5: Karatu to Lake Manyara National Park – Mto wa Mbu
After breakfast, you’ll drive to nearby Lake Manyara National Park, which is known for its rich green forest, beautiful lake views, and tree-climbing lions. The park is also home to elephants, baboons, giraffes, hippos, flamingos, and many kinds of birds. You’ll go on a game drive through the different habitats, from jungle-like forests to open grassy plains. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch in the park before continuing your game drive. In the afternoon, you’ll drive to the village of Mto wa Mbu or return to Karatu, depending on your lodge. Enjoy your final evening with dinner and overnight at a mid-range lodge.

Day 6: Mto wa Mbu to Arusha / Airport
On your final day, you’ll have a relaxed breakfast at the lodge. Depending on your flight time, you can take a short walk through the village or visit a local market. Then, your guide will drive you back to Arusha or to the airport for your flight home. Along the way, you may stop at local shops to buy handmade souvenirs or gifts. This marks the end of your unforgettable 6-day safari experience in Tanzania.
