Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park - Karatu
Your safari begins after breakfast when your guide picks you up from your hotel in Arusha. You’ll drive southwest for about 2 to 3 hours to reach Tarangire National Park, which is famous for its large herds of elephants and its wide landscapes dotted with ancient baobab trees. Once inside the park, you’ll begin your first game drive, where you’ll look for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and predators such as lions and leopards. Tarangire’s river attracts many animals, especially during the dry season, making it a great place for wildlife viewing. You will enjoy a packed picnic lunch in a scenic area of the park, and continue your game drive into the afternoon. Later in the day, you will leave the park and drive to Karatu, a small town near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Here, you’ll check in at your mid-range lodge, enjoy a relaxing evening, and have dinner.

Day 2: Karatu to Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast, you’ll depart for Serengeti National Park, driving through the beautiful highlands of Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you may stop for photos and enjoy the changing landscapes as you descend onto the endless plains of the Serengeti. By midday, you’ll arrive in the central part of the park, known as Seronera, where wildlife is rich all year round. You will enjoy a picnic lunch before starting your afternoon game drive. The Serengeti is home to an incredible number of animals including lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, zebras, buffaloes, and thousands of wildebeest, especially during the migration season. With the help of your guide, you’ll explore different parts of the park while searching for big cats and other fascinating animals. After your game drive, you will head to your lodge or tented camp inside the Serengeti, where you’ll enjoy a warm dinner and spend the night surrounded by the sounds of the wild.

Day 3: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Karatu
On this day, you will start with an early morning game drive in the Serengeti, which gives you a good chance to see predators like lions and hyenas while they are still active. The early morning light is also perfect for photography. After returning to the camp for a hearty breakfast, you’ll begin your journey out of the Serengeti and back toward Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You’ll have another chance to spot wildlife on the way. As you drive through the highlands again, you’ll see Maasai villages and cattle grazing, offering a glimpse of local life. You will arrive back in Karatu in the late afternoon or early evening and check in again at your lodge. Enjoy a warm shower, a delicious dinner, and rest after a full day of travel and wildlife viewing.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha / Airport
After an early breakfast, you’ll drive to the entrance of the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most amazing natural wonders. You will descend into the crater for a half-day game drive. This massive caldera is home to over 25,000 animals, including the Big Five: lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard. The landscape inside the crater is a mix of grasslands, forests, and lakes, providing the perfect home for many different species. You’ll have a picnic lunch near a small lake or the hippo pool, where you can relax and enjoy the scenery. After lunch, you will begin your drive back to Arusha or directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home. Along the way, you can stop at local curio shops to buy souvenirs such as crafts, carvings, and Maasai jewelry.
