Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – Welcome to Tanzania
Your safari adventure begins the moment you arrive in Tanzania. After landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be greeted by your personal safari guide who will be waiting for you with a warm smile and a sign bearing your name. From the airport, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Arusha, the starting point for most northern safaris. The drive to the hotel takes about an hour, and along the way, you’ll pass local towns and catch your first glimpse of Tanzania’s landscapes. Depending on your arrival time, you can spend the rest of the day relaxing at the lodge, enjoying a refreshing drink, taking a swim, or simply resting after your journey. If you arrive early, your guide can take you on a short local tour of Arusha town. This day is all about settling in and preparing for the exciting days ahead
Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After an early breakfast at your lodge, you’ll begin your journey to Tarangire National Park. Once you arrive at the park gate, your game drive begins right away. Tarangire is one of Tanzania’s hidden gems, especially known for its large herds of elephants, giant baobab trees, and beautiful open landscapes. During the dry season, the park comes alive as animals gather around the Tarangire River the main water source making it one of the best places to spot wildlife. You’ll spend the day driving through the park, watching for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and many species of antelope. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot inside the park, where you can eat while listening to the sounds of the wild. In the afternoon, you’ll continue your game drive before heading to your lodge, located either near the park or in the nearby town of Karatu.
Day 3: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, your safari continues with a scenic drive toward Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most famous and spectacular wildlife destinations. The drive takes about 5 to 6 hours, but it’s an incredible journey through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the wide, endless plains of the Serengeti. Along the way, you’ll pass through beautiful highlands and Maasai villages, and you may choose to stop at Olduvai Gorge, a historic site where some of the oldest human fossils were found. You’ll enter the Central Serengeti in the afternoon. This part of the park is rich in wildlife all year round and is a prime location for spotting big cats like lions, cheetahs, and leopards. You’ll enjoy an afternoon game drive, watching animals as the sun begins to set over the savannah. After an exciting day, you’ll head to your tented camp, where you can relax around the campfire and enjoy dinner under the stars.
Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro
Wake up early for a sunrise game drive in the Serengeti. Early morning is one of the best times to see predators in action, as animals are most active before the heat of the day. After the game drive, return to camp for a late breakfast and then begin your drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As you leave the Serengeti behind, you’ll continue spotting wildlife along the way. The landscapes change from open plains to lush green hills as you climb up into the highlands. You’ll arrive at your lodge located near or on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, where you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the crater floor below. The evening is free to relax and take in the cooler mountain air, perhaps watching the sunset from the lodge terrace.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
Today is the grand finale of your safari. After an early breakfast, you’ll descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, a World Heritage Site and one of the best places in Africa to see the Big Five, lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and the rare black rhino all in one place. The crater floor is a self-contained ecosystem with rivers, swamps, forests, and open grasslands. You may also see hippos, flamingos, hyenas, jackals, and many types of birds. You’ll enjoy a game drive on the crater floor, with a picnic lunch at one of the designated spots near the Hippo Pool. After lunch, you’ll slowly make your way out of the crater and begin the drive back to Arusha. Your guide will drop you off at your hotel or at the airport, depending on your onward travel plans
