Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha - Welcome to Tanzania
Your adventure begins the moment you land at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Upon arrival, your private safari guide will warmly welcome you and assist with your luggage before escorting you on a scenic one-hour drive to your lodge in Arusha. The drive offers your first glimpses of Tanzanian life, with views of small towns, farms, and possibly Mount Meru in the distance. Once at your lodge, you can relax in the peaceful surroundings many lodges feature lush gardens, a swimming pool, or a veranda to enjoy the fresh air. If your flight arrives early, there’s an option to take a short tour of Arusha town, visit a Maasai craft market, or explore a cultural center. This day is primarily for unwinding, adjusting to the local time zone, and preparing for the safari ahead.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park – Elephants & Baobabs
After a hearty breakfast at your lodge, your guide will drive you to Tarangire National Park, about two hours away. As soon as you enter the park, your game drive begins. Tarangire is a beautiful, less-crowded reserve famous for its massive elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. The Tarangire River runs through the park, acting as a magnet for wildlife especially during the dry season. You'll have the chance to see elephants walking in family groups, lions resting under acacia trees, giraffes browsing, and a range of antelopes. Over 300 bird species call this park home, making it a paradise for birdwatchers. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot inside the park and continue with an afternoon game drive before heading to your lodge, located either near the park or in the charming highland town of Karatu.

Day 3: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park - Into the Wild
Following breakfast, your journey continues as you drive toward the legendary Serengeti National Park. The drive takes approximately five to six hours, but it is full of breathtaking landscapes and cultural encounters. You’ll pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where the highlands are dotted with Maasai villages and cattle herds. An optional stop at Olduvai Gorge is available for those interested in history this is one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. By early afternoon, you’ll enter the Serengeti’s vast plains, where the real adventure begins. Central Serengeti (Seronera) is particularly rich in wildlife, and you’re likely to spot lions, cheetahs, leopards, and many grazing animals. You’ll arrive at your tented camp in time to settle in and enjoy dinner under the stars, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Day 4: Full Day in Serengeti National Park - Big Cats & the Great Migration
Today is a full day of exploration in the Serengeti, a land of endless horizons and incredible wildlife density. Your guide will structure the game drives around the seasonal wildlife movements and your personal interests. An early morning drive gives you the best chance to see predators like lions and cheetahs at their most active. Throughout the day, you may encounter elephants, herds of buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, jackals, and countless bird species. If your safari coincides with the Great Migration season you may witness thousands of wildebeest and zebras crossing the plains or even a dramatic predator hunt. Between drives, you can return to camp for lunch and relaxation before heading out again in the late afternoon for more sightings. The day ends with dinner around the fire and a night under the stars.

Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro - Highland Beauty
After an optional sunrise game drive in the Serengeti, followed by breakfast at camp, you’ll begin your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As you leave the Serengeti behind, the scenery transforms from wide, open plains to lush highlands and rolling hills. Along the way, you may encounter Maasai herders moving cattle or choose to stop at a traditional village to learn more about their culture. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at your lodge near the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. The views here are simply stunning you’ll be looking down into one of the most unique wildlife areas on Earth. The cooler air and peaceful atmosphere of the highlands provide a perfect contrast to the heat of the Serengeti. You’ll enjoy a relaxed evening with dinner and panoramic views as the sun sets over the crater rim.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha -The Big Five Finale
On your final day, you’ll wake up early for a descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best places in Africa to spot the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and the rare black rhino. The crater, formed from an ancient volcanic eruption, is now a thriving ecosystem with grasslands, swamps, a lake, and acacia forests. You’ll enjoy a half-day game drive with exceptional opportunities to spot lions hunting, hippos wallowing, elephants grazing, and possibly rhinos roaming the open plains. A picnic lunch will be served near the Hippo Pool, a serene spot where you can reflect on your journey. After lunch, you’ll ascend the crater walls and begin your drive back to Arusha, where your guide will drop you at your hotel or the airport for your onward travel. Your safari ends, but the memories will last a lifetime.
