3-Day Danakil Depression Adventure – A Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience!
I just completed an unforgettable 3-day trip to the Danakil Depression in Ethiopia with Ethio Tesfa Tours, and it was truly one of the most surreal and unique travel experiences I've ever had. Day 1: We started from Mekelle and drove into the desert, arriving at Hamed Ila by evening. The sunset over the salt flats at Lake Asale was absolutely magical — like standing on another planet. Day 2: We visited the vibrant, otherworldly landscapes of Dallol, filled with neon-colored sulfur springs and bizarre salt formations. In the afternoon, we headed to Erta Ale Volcano and did a 30-minute trek to the crater. Watching the lava glow and bubble at night was an unforgettable experience! Day 3: We explored Erta Ale again at sunrise, with a completely different view of the crater and surroundings.
