6 Days Machame Route Kilimanjaro Climbing | Mount Kilimanjaro Trekking Adventure
Day 1: Machame Gate to Machame Camp
Your Kilimanjaro adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Moshi or Arusha. After registration at Machame Gate, meet your professional mountain guide and trekking team before starting your climb.
The trail takes you through the beautiful rainforest zone, where you may see monkeys, colorful birds, and unique mountain vegetation. The path gradually climbs through dense forest before reaching Machame Camp.
Enjoy dinner and overnight at the camp while preparing for the next day’s trek.

Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
After breakfast, begin your trek through the rainforest towards the Shira Plateau. The landscape changes from forest to moorland, offering stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the surrounding valleys.
Continue climbing through rocky terrain and volcanic landscapes until reaching Shira Camp, where you will enjoy spectacular sunset views.

Day 3: Shira Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp
Today is an important acclimatization day. Trek across the high desert landscape towards Lava Tower at 4,600 m, allowing your body to adjust to the altitude.
After lunch at Lava Tower, descend to Barranco Camp, passing the impressive Great Barranco Wall. This gradual climb and descent help improve acclimatization while enjoying breathtaking mountain scenery.

Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
After breakfast, begin the exciting climb of the famous Barranco Wall. With the support of your guides, climb this impressive rocky section while enjoying incredible views of glaciers and valleys.
Continue through alpine desert terrain to Karanga Camp, where you will rest and prepare for the final summit attempt.

Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp to Summit Preparation
After breakfast, continue to Barafu Camp, the final base camp before reaching the summit. The trail crosses a dry alpine desert with views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks.
Arrive at Barafu Camp, have lunch, rest, and receive a summit briefing from your guide. You will prepare your equipment and sleep early before the midnight summit climb.

Day 6: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
Wake up around midnight and begin your final ascent to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), the highest point in Africa. Trek slowly through the volcanic scree towards Stella Point, then continue along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak.
Celebrate your achievement with unforgettable views of glaciers, sunrise, and the African landscape below.
After taking photos at the summit, descend to Barafu Camp for breakfast before continuing down to Mweka Camp for overnight.
The following descent continues to Mweka Gate, where you will complete registration and receive your summit certificate before transferring back to Moshi.
