Day 1: Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park – Karatu

Your safari starts with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). After a short safari briefing, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, a beautiful park located beneath the Great Rift Valley Escarpment.

Enjoy a game drive through the park’s diverse landscapes, including groundwater forests, open plains, and the lake shoreline. Lake Manyara is famous for its tree-climbing lions, large elephant herds, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, monkeys, hippos, and colorful birdlife including flamingos.

Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park while surrounded by beautiful scenery, then continue with an afternoon game drive before heading to your lodge near Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

After an early breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s best wildlife destinations.

Enjoy a full-day game drive on the crater floor, searching for the Big Five including lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and the endangered black rhino. The crater is also home to zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas, gazelles, and many bird species.

Enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool before continuing your final wildlife viewing. Later, ascend the crater and drive back to Arusha, arriving in the evening after an unforgettable Tanzania safari experience with Nelwen Tours & Safaris.
