Tanzania Family Safari Tour - 7 days

Tanzania - Safari Tours

Tour Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival at JRO

Upon the arrival of your flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by a Wyatt Dynasty Safaris representative who will transfer you to the chosen accommodation. On arrival at the hotel, you are greeted by a friendly staff member, offering refreshments before turning in to rest after your travels.

Day 2
Lake Manyara

After breakfast, you will set off for Lake Manyara National Park. En route, with your picnic lunch, you will have a private overland trip to Lake Manyara National Park, through the woodland pathways that wind between the sides of the tremendous elevation of the western portions of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment and the shallow Alkaline Soda Water Lake. The park is a haven for bird lovers, with over 400 species of birds, although be aware that the number of birds here fluctuates depending on the water level. Lake Manyara National Park also provides habitat for lions, buffalo, and Maasai giraffe, as well as troops of baboons and three endangered Tanzanian species: the Rufous-tailed weaver, Ashy starlings, and Black-collared Lovebird. By late afternoon, you will have experienced the impressive rise of the western stretches of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment before heading to your lodge for dinner and the night.

Day 3
Central Serengeti
This morning, you will take your way to the Serengeti National Park. Arrive in time for lunch, and then continue your game drive until sunset, when you will return to your lodge for dinner and the night. The Serengeti, the world’s most famous wildlife sanctuary, is the essence of safari fantasies: rolling grasslands and wide-open savannah teeming with African species. Between July and October, the Serengeti is the site to see the magnificent annual wildebeest migration, when over a million animals thunder over the plains in search of water and grazing, the Serengeti is popular all year. See lions lounging in the shade or track down a lone leopard.

Day 4&5
Central Serengeti

These two days will be dedicated to a full-day game drive in the Serengeti, with the possibility of a pre-arranged hot-air balloon flight in the morning. Take to the air and drift upwards as the sun rises for a unique view of the Serengeti when the vivid pink-orange haze can be seen for kilometers over the huge plains and species can be distinguished from their silhouette forms below. Following that, you’ll go on morning and afternoon game drives. The park provides an excellent opportunity to observe the Big Five, as well as much better opportunities to see big cats. Elephants, giraffes, hyenas, impalas, wildebeest, and buffalo are among the other animals to be seen.

Day 6
Ngorongoro

We recommend getting up early in the morning to head to the Ngorongoro Crater and onto the crater floor to witness this wildlife spectacle, which has the world’s densest population of lions and spotted hyenas. The crater is one of the few spots in Tanzania where black rhinos and numerous old tuskers can be seen reliably feeding in the Gorigor swamp in their retirement. Enjoy a picnic lunch at Ngoitokitok Springs, where hippos’ frolic and black kites may prey on your food. Before returning to the lodge this afternoon, you continue your investigations in search of the Big Five that roam the plains of this natural amphitheater.
