Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Kathmandu to Dharapani Drive (1,960 m)
The Annapurna Circuit trek economy package starts in Kathmandu. Early in the morning, you will take a bus from Kathmandu to Dharapani. There will be a comfortable bus to Besisahar, and you will have a shared jeep to Dharapani. The Kathmandu to Dharapani drive will take 8 to 10 hours, which is about 220 to 240 kilometers. Travelers will be passing by beautiful villages, terraced rice fields, rivers, lush forests, and small settlements. Till Besisahar, it will be a smooth drive, but from Besisahar to Dharapani, it will be an off-road mountain drive. On arrival in Dharapani, you will be transferred to the beautiful teahouse as a lodge. You will have tea or coffee and take a rest. Explore the beautiful mountain surroundings; you will enjoy the wonderful landscapes and thrilling moments. In the evening, have your dinner and unwind in the comfortable room after a long day of travel.
Day 2: Trek from Dharapani to Chame (2,710 m)
Today you will start the most-awaited Himalayan journey from Dharapani to Chame. Wake up in the morning, have breakfast, and start your first day of the trek. Explore the beautiful surroundings: the Annapurna ranges, Pisang, and Manang. Trekkers will have 5 to 6 hours of trekking to Chame. You will pass by small glaciers fed by streams, lush forests, traditional villages, and pastureland. Trekkers will have lunch and a tea break in the teahouse during the treks. Chame is located at an elevation of about 2,710 meters above sea level. You will arrive in Chame and transfer to the comfortable teahouse, where you will stay overnight.
Day 3: Chame to Pisang (3,550 m)
Trekkers will have a further ascent to Pisang, which has a much higher altitude than Chame. You will have your breakfast and get ready to trek for pisang. Trek through beautiful pine forests, bamboo, beautiful dramatic mountains, traditional villages, and wonderful surroundings. Trekkers will be passing by beautiful suspension bridges and lush forests and exploring the snow-capped mountains. Trekking to Pisang from Chame would take about 4 to 5 hours, which is a distance of approximately 10 to 12 kilometers. The altitude of Pisang is approximately 3,550 meters. Trekkers will arrive in Pisang and transfer to the beautiful teahouse. Explore the beautiful surroundings, wonderful Pisang Peak, and thrilling landscapes. You will have your evening dinner in the teahouse and an overnight stay to unwind in the comfortable room.
Day 4: Pisang to Manang (3,540 m)
You will have your breakfast in the teahouse and get ready for trekking to Manang from Pisang. Manang is the best acclimatization destination during the Annapurna Circuit trek. Trekkers will have uphill, downhill, and level treks during the Pisang to Manang journey. Explore the dramatic mountain views, amazing flora and fauna, traditional villages, mountainsides, and high-altitude terrains. You will explore the beautiful Himalayan Buddhist culture and traditions and the Manange, Thakali, and Gurung communities and their cultures. Trekking from Pisang to Manang will take 5 to 6 hours, and the distance is about 13 to 15 kilometers. Manang is a high-altitude terrain, which can be called the Himalayan desert. The altitude of Manang is about 3540 meters above sea level. Trekkers will arrive in Manang, and you will be transferred to the comfortable lodge or teahouse. You will explore the beautiful surroundings and meet innocent local people. In the evening, have your delicious dinner and overnight stay; relax in the comfortable teahouse.
Day 5: Acclimatization in Manang: hike to Ice Lake (4,620 m)
Acclimatization is crucial during high-altitude Himalayan trekking. Today you will have a day of acclimatization in Manang, where we can do the Manang Ice Lake hike. Have your breakfast and start your hike to the stunning Manang Ice Lake or a nearby hill. Trekkers will hike to the most beautiful Ice Lake, which is a gradual uphill at an altitude of 4,600 meters. You will be exploring the panoramic views of Pisang Peak, Annapurna Peak, and other mountains from Ice Lake. The beautiful ice lake is breathtaking to explore. Hiking would take about 4 to 5 hours for the round trip. Trekkers are advised to carry drinking water, dry foods, and a picnic lunch or have the option to take a late lunch. The day of acclimatization will give you the best body adjustment to the high-altitude climate, which will make it easier to do the Thorong La Pass.
Day 6: Manang to Tilicho Base Camp (4,140 m)
Today you will have a beautiful adventure to the Tilicho Lake Trek. You will have your breakfast and start the trek to Tilicho Base Camp. The trek involves the dramatic mountains, beautiful landscapes, alpine terrain, and snow-capped mountains. Breathtaking Himalayan scenery on the way to the world-popular and highest Tilicho Lake. The altitude of Tilicho Lake is about 4,919 meters. Trekking to Tilicho Base Camp will take about 5 to 6 hours. On arrival at Tilicho Base Camp, you will transfer to a teahouse where you will have an overnight stay. If you have time, you can visit the beautiful Tilicho Lake the same day; otherwise, you can visit early in the morning.
Day 7: Explore Tilicho Lake (4,919 m) and trek to Sri Kharka (4,080 m)
Today you will wake up early in the morning and hike to Tilicho Lake, then explore the breathtaking Tilicho Lake. You will have about an hour's hike to Tilicho Lake and explore the beautiful surroundings. The altitude of Tilicho Lake is 4,919 meters above sea level. Tilicho Lake is known as the highest altitude freshwater lake in the world. Trekkers will go back to the hotel, have their fresh breakfast, and start the trek to Sri Kharka. You will be exploring Tilicho Peak, the Annapurna ranges, Pisang Peak, and the surrounding peaks. The elevation of Sri Kharka is about 4,080 meters. Trekking from Tilicho Base Camp to Sri Kharka will take 4 to 5 hours. On arrival in Sri Khara, you will be transferred to a cozy teahouse where you will relax overnight.
Day 8: Trek to Yak Kharka (4,050 m)
After breakfast, you will trek to Yak Kharka, which is a beautiful part of the Annapurna Circuit trek. The vibrant morning begins with a gentle ascent through rugged terrain and alpine hillsides, exploring the breathtaking views of Annapurna III, Gangapurna, and surroundings mountains. You will be passing by the Khansar village, the Yak Grazing field, and the Himalayan rare wildlife. Trekking to Yak Kharka from Sri Kharka will take around 5 to 6 hours, which is about 10 to 12 kilometers. The altitude of Yak Kharka is approximately 4,050 meters above sea level. On the arrival of Yak Kharka, you will be exploring the thrilling views of Mt. Annapurna and the surrounding views. You will have some rest time with hot tea or coffee. In the evening, have your dinner and overnight stay and unwind in the teahouse at Yak Kharka.
Day 9: Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (lower Thorong La, 4,525 m)
Today you trek to Thorong La Phedi, which is also known as lower Thorong La or Thorong La base camp. After your breakfast, you will trek to Thorong Phedi. Trekkers will be exploring Thorong Peak, the Annapurna ranges, Gangapurna, and the surrounding mountains. You will be experiencing the snowy trails, rugged mountains, suspension bridges, and high-altitude alpine meadows. Trekking to Thorong Phedi will be good acclimatization before crossing the Thorong La high pass. Trekking to Thorong Phedi will take about 4 to 5 hours, which is about 10 kilometers. The altitude of Thorong Phedi, or lower Thorong La, is approximately 4,525 meters. On the arrival of Thorong Phedi, you will be transferred to a cozy and beautiful teahouse. Trekkers will have hot tea or coffee while having a rest in the teahouse. You will be exploring the breathtaking surroundings and Thorong Peak. In the evening, have your delicious dinner and overnight stay, and relax.
Day 10: Thorong Phedi to Thorong La Pass (5,416 m.) and trek to Muktinath (3,800 m.)
Trekkers will wake up early, around 2 to 3 am, and start the trek to Thorong La Pass after a light breakfast. Due to high-altitude ascent and snowy mountain climbing, we need to start the trek at about 3 to 4 am in the morning. Usually, in the morning time there will be stable weather, so early morning would be the best time to do the Thorong La Pass. The altitude of Thorong Pass is about 5,416 meters, and it takes about 4 to 6 hours to reach the top. The Thorong Phedi to Thotong La Pass and Muktinath Temple trek would take about 8 to 10 hours. You will be exploring the beautiful Thorong La Peak, the Annapurna ranges, Dhaulagiri, Gangapurna, Tlicho Peak, and other beautiful panoramic Himalayan views from Thorong La Pass. You will trek down to Muktinath Temple at an altitude of 3,800 meters. On arrival at Muktinath, you will relax and spend an overnight stay at a beautiful, cozy teahouse, where you will unwind from the adventurous high pass.
Day 11: Drive from Muktinath Temple to Pokhara (822 m)
Trekkers will explore the beautiful surroundings, worship at the Muktinath Temple, and see beautiful Himalayan views. You will have breakfast in the tea house and drive to Pokhara. You will pass by Kagbeni, Jomsome, Marpha, Tukuche, Tatopani, and Beni before reaching Pokhara. You will have a scenic drive through the Kali Gandaki Gorge, with views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. The Muktinath to Pokhara drive is about 175 kilometers, which will take about 8 to 10 hours. Due to the high-altitude adventurous drive, it will be a slow drive. On arrival in Pokhara, you will transfer to a beautiful hotel in Pokhara. Explore the beautiful Pokhara city, Lakeside, and beautiful Phewa Lake. In the evening, you will have your dinner in the vibrant restaurant and an overnight stay at a comfortable hotel and unwind from the long Annapurna trek.
Day 12: Pokhara to Kathmandu scenic drive (1,400 m)
Today you will drive to Kathmandu from Pokhara, have your morning breakfast in the hotel, and have a scenic drive to Kathmandu. Pokhara to Kathmandu is about 200 kilometers, which will take 6 to 8 hours of driving. Depending on traffic conditions, weather, and vehicle, it would take about 6 to 8 hours. You will be exploring beautiful settlements, terraced rice fields, rivers, and lush forests. There will be lunch and tea breaks during the highway drive. On arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel, where you will stay overnight. Travelers will have a farewell dinner and celebration in the vibrant restaurant in Thamel.
