Everest Base Camp Trek Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be welcomed by our representative of Touch Planet Treks & transfer to the Hotel. The arrival in Kathmandu brings you back in time and enjoy the traditional markets and prospects of architectural history. Arrive at the hotel, take a rest in your comfortable room, or explore the Thamel market, a vibrant street full of antique and gear stores. The explorations around the Thamel, remind you about the thrilling adventure to EBC every minute. Amazing glimpses of Kathmandu tell thousands of years of history, merged into myths and legends. Several temples, stupas, and cultural landmarks intertwine expressing a multicolored image. Today, have a welcome dinner with other trekkers and your guide introduces the upcoming day’s trek to you.
Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing and Trek Preparation (1,400m)
Today, you will immerse into the culture and history of Kathmandu, a city with the densest UNESCO World Heritage sites amongst which is Monkey Temple also known as Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath Temple, and Durbar Square. All these give a good orientation of the country’s history and arts as well as spirituality. After some time join us for the pre-trek briefing with your guide and get to view crucial information about the trek. You will also have time to look at your gear and probably sort out the items one last time. For the remainder of the day enjoy the street of Thamel with shopping, bars, and cafes, and stroll through the trekking stores. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 3: Fly to Lukla (2,800m), Trek to Phakding (2,651m)
Today, you will have a scenic but thrilling flight from Kathmandu to Lukla with a glimpse of the mountains. After a comfortable landing in one of the world's shortest runways, we will begin a hike to Phakding afterward. The trail goes up and down through Himalayan settlements, through pine trees, and through prayer walls. Take time and make small and easy turns to enjoy the exercise. The trails also come with spectacles like stunning suspension bridges across the Dudh Kosi River and more of an adventure. The destination for the day is Phakding and we will reach there by evening so that you can freshen up for the next day trekking. Overnight in Phakding.
Day 4: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)
The walk today is going to involve a lot of pictural crossways with suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River. The trail passes villages, rhododendron forests, and terraces.
After an adventurous climb to Namche Bazaar, a bustling Himalayan settlement nestled among mountains, Namche is that point that offers a spectacular view of Thamserku, Kongde Ri, and other mountains. The bazaar also provides an excellent hub for acclimatization among trekkers going towards the Everest region. Upon arrival, explore the vibrant shops and bakeries around town. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.
Day 5: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar (3,440m)
Acclimatize the altitude by spending a rest day exploring Namche. If you want to join an easy trek to near Syangboche Airport or Everest View Hotel for magnificent views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and other peaks. Alternatively, visit a museum that showcases the local culture and mountaineering history. Also, relax in the cafes of Namche, or simply goof off in the markets for souvenirs and paraphernalia for trekking. This day will help your body acclimatize for high elevation gains later on and ensure a safer trek. Overnight at Namche Bazaar.
Day 6: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,867m)
Leaving Namche, a fabulous trail with spectacular views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam winds its way up to the Dudh Koshi River. After crossing, the path climbs steeply through rhododendrons and pine to arrive in the afternoon at the nunnery village of Tengboche. One of the spiritual features of the trek you can have a visit to the famous Tengboche Monastery. This is a lifetime experience when gentle surroundings and the majesty of surroundings peaks make this an unforgettable experience. Follow evening prayers for a cultural experience. Later, overnight at Tengboche.
Day 7: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410m)
Down through a live forest, across a suspension bridge over the Imja River, and then climb up to the traditional Himalayan village of Pangboche. As you approach Dingboche, the trail continues opening up with wider angle views. Dingboche, at higher altitudes, presents a pleasing ambiance of stone-walled fields and rugged surroundings. You have astonishing views of Ama Dablam and peek into village life in this area of abject remoteness. Here, rest and acclimatize for tomorrow's trek. Overnight in Dingboche.
Day 8: Acclimatization Day in Dingboche (4,410m)
Acclimate to Dingboche, a beautiful setting and a good spot to relax, with open fields and an impressive mountain view. Enjoy a rest and acclimatization day to explore, rest, and acclimate to the higher altitude. You will have lots of time to catch up with fellow trekkers and enjoy the slow pace that comes with high elevation. Preparation for the next day's journey to Lobuche, overnight stay in Dingboche.
Day 9: Trek from Dingboche to Duglha (4,620m)
Today's shorter trek rises gradually toward Duglha, a small settlement at the base of the Khumbu Glacier. You pass through a rocky landscape, catching the first glimpses of icy moraine. Close to Duglha are memorials to several climbers who have died on Everest. Please take a moment to remember the sacrifices made by other adventurers. The altitude here increases the difficulty of the climb, so take your rest in Duglha to prepare yourself for the higher climb tomorrow. Overnight in Duglha.
Day 10: Trek from Duglha to Lobuche (4,940m)
Start with a steep ascend towards Dugla Pass and then begin a trek alongside the edge of Khumbu Glacier. It gets rockier, and with thinner air, every step can be a bit more exhausting. However, the view of towering peaks like Pumori and Nuptse makes this journey worth your time. Arrive in Lobuche, a small settlement falling in between several glaciers and snow-capped peaks. This is one of the last stops before reaching Everest Base Camp and is quite remote. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Overnight in Lobuche.
Day 11: Trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,164m), Visit Everest Base Camp (5,364m)
Early morning trekking brings you to Gorak Shep, your last stop before Everest Base Camp. After a short break, head to Base Camp, where you'll be surprised at the Khumbu Icefall and the colorful tents of climbers. Snap the iconic photo and enjoy your accomplishment; you have reached the foot of the world's tallest mountain. Night back at Gorak Shep, thinking over your remarkable achievement. Early morning, get ready to hike towards the sunrise view of Kala Patthar. Overnight stay in Gorak Shep.
Day 12: Trek from Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar (5,545m), Trek to Pheriche (4,371m)
Start early for the steep ascent to Kala Patthar, the best viewpoint for Everest. Watch the sunrise cast a golden glow over Everest and the surrounding peaks. After taking in the views, make the descent to Gorak Shep for breakfast and then head to Pheriche. Downhill brings relief from altitude, and the familiar surroundings offer a peaceful close to the day. Rest in Pheriche and acknowledge the accomplishment of reaching Everest's heights. Overnight in Pheriche.
Day 13: Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)
Retrace your way back down through the incredible valley, continuing along the Dudh Koshi River. Go through Pangboche and Tengboche, making sure to hit all of those favorite spots on the trail. More oxygen at these lower altitudes infuses energy and relief, as more ground can be covered. By afternoon, you will have made it to Namche Bazaar, where a warm meal and possible reunions with other trekkers await. Enjoy Namche in comfort before the final trek day. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.
Day 14: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,800m)
The final day of the trek is Lukla, where you will travel from Namche if you have to take a flight from Lukla. The well-known route leads you through the forests, Himalayan villages, and several Cindy prayer flags colored bridges. Take your final look at the sights as you walk across the last suspension bridge on this trail. When reaching Lukla, you and your team should be proud of the achievement you just accomplished. Have a delicious last breakfast here before proceeding to have our final meal at the local Nepalese restaurant before flying back to Kathmandu in the morning. This is a time to listen to one another and have the final night of trekking in the mountains. Overnight in Lukla.
Day 15: Fly to Kathmandu (1,400m)
Get an early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu for the final time with a glimpse of the Himalayas. After you receive of ticket at the airport of arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your requisite hotel. Sightseeing, engaging in leisure shopping, or doing other activities such as walking in the street of Thamel leisurely. This is also an opportunity to enjoy a dinner, dedicated to the farewell with the trek and the thoughts about the EBC trek you have accomplished. Trip to the millennia-old city, Kathmandu for the last time and get the touch of its liveliness. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 16: Final Departure
After Breakfast at your beautiful hotel, check out from the hotel, and our representative will help you proceed toward the Tribhuvan International Airport for your home destination. Take the memories of the fascinating views of nature and cultural interaction, together with the achievement of trekking to EBC. Farewell, Namaste!
