Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking recognized the most popular three to five day holiday 246 kilometers northwest of Kathmandu. The hiking begins in Nayapul (1070 m) after a1:15-minute car trip (44 km) northwest of Pokhara (827 m) and ends in Phedi (1080 m), 16 km northwest of the city. The moderate journey passes along a terraced field, village, river valley, and the rhododendron forest with uphill and downhill track. It requires ACAP permit and TIMS card. A tourist can explore a rural lifestyle, food habit, ethical dress, tradition, flora, fauna, and magnificent landscape. Every day 300 tourists visit in September to December, and March to May. The destination of Poon Hill (3210 m) with a tower (3230 m) offers sunrise and sunset views of the world highest mountain, including Mt. Dhaulagiri 8167 m (7th), Mt. Manaslu 8163 m (8th), Mt. Annapurna 8091 m (10th), Annapurna South (7219 m) and Fishtail (6993 m) with the deep Kali Gandaki Valley (6997 m).
